Why Consumers Buy:
Spacious, high-quality accommodations
Truly a home away from home, the high quality of accommodations offered at timeshare resorts typically include:
Spacious floor plans and home-like amenities, compared with traditional hospitality accommodations;
Flexibility and space, from studio units to spacious three bedroom villas;
Fully equipped kitchen with dining area;
Washer and dryer, stereo, televisions, DVD players/VCRs; and more.
Timeshare resort amenities often include:
Swimming pools, tennis courts, Jacuzzi, spa and fitness facilities;
Golf, boating, skiing, water sports, and amusement and theme parks on-site or nearby; and Planned children’s activities
Flexibility:
Once you own a timeshare, the vacation choices are endless. The inherent flexibility of the timeshare concept is offered through many alternatives in location, unit size, time of year, and the opportunity to exchange to other resorts. Vacations can be at a fixed time or can vary each year, and accommodations can range from a studio to a two- or three-bedroom villa. As an owner you can opt to visit your home resort or exchange to other resorts, spas, cruises, hotels, and specialty tours throughout the world!
How Vacation Ownership Works:
Vacation ownership takes the hassle out of second home ownership. You purchase your future vacations at today’s prices and for just the time you need.
Make a one-time purchase of furnished resort accommodations at a fraction of whole ownership costs and pay an annual maintenance fee. Each unit of a timeshare resort is divided into intervals, most commonly by the week or some other combination of days. Often the amount of time you purchase is expressed in terms of “points”– a popular trend that is aimed at increasing the range of options for the use of your timeshare interval.
In a majority of resorts today, your vacation ownership interest will include a deeded interest in real estate. Other timeshare programs do not include an interest in real property, but are structured more like a membership. How you actually use your timeshare vacation is generally not affected by the absence or presence of a real estate interest.
The accommodations are priced according to a variety of factors, including size of the unit, resort amenities, location, and season of use. You own the vacation accommodations, but only for the amount of time you choose – typically one or two weeks each year for a traditional timeshare. There are other types of timeshare programs, such as fractionals, offering longer use periods (as long as three months), but these are priced much more like a traditional vacation home.

Although Southern California does have some world class cities like Los Angeles, Pasadena and Anaheim. And those cities offer all of the great amenities you would expect from that much demand in one place, great food, world class entertainment, nightlife, the allure of the So Cal timeshare region can really be summed up in one sun drenched, wind swept breath, THE BEACH. Venice beach, Santa Monica pier, Malibu, Redondo Beach, Carlsbad, and Oceanside visit any of them you will never want to leave

One of the universal truths in the Timeshare world is: If you have a great beach, you have a great resort to own a timeshare. This has never been truer that with the timeshare resorts in San Diego!

The San Diego Timeshare market Stretches from the Mexican border all the way to Oceanside which is just south of Orange County. The Timeshare Resorts are gorgeous and you will not find one that does not have an amazing beach within a stone’s through. San Diego has the comfortable average temperature of 70 degrees similar to its super metropolis sister to the north (L.A). What is does not have is the never ending humidity, and smothering smog and traffic.

With this timeshare market, like most, it is location, location, location, you are with a few minutes of the beach and if you are looking for some city excitement, timeshares in San Diego are no slouch. A timeshare resort in the San Diego area gives you access to great dining and good night clubs. It is also the Major League Baseball home of the Padres and home to Ladanian Tomlinson’s San Diego Chargers. San Diego also boasts one of the greatest zoological parks in the world, The San Diego Zoo. But, one of the great, rarely mentioned reasons to buy timeshare in the San Diego area is that San Diego has one of the lowest crime rates in the country. How is that for relaxing news?
Sand Pebble in Solana Beach is the resort-one blaock form the beach & low maintenance fees!

All factors being equal, a resale from a previous owner or a resale company, will probably cost considerably less than buying direct from the developer. Deep discounts of 50% and more are not uncommon. There are instances where buying from a developer may be your only choice. Lack of a unit with the amenities, location or “extra” added programs like the Marriott point program might be a consideration to buy from a developer. Again, research your decision BEFORE you buy to secure the best deal for you. Where should you begin this research? I think you know the answer. Think “Timeshare Locators”!

Most people who own Vacation properties agree that the best timeshares to own are timeshares that you are going to use. While the exchange programs such as RCI and Interval International , and all the independent ones, are great, buying a timeshare to exchange isn’t always the most cost effective way of using timeshares to vacation.
So the best bet is to buy a timeshare that you will want to visit. Related to that tip is the idea that you should buy a timeshare that’s within a day’s drive of your own home. I think you should plan on an eight hour drive at most. Even that is a long day for most people, but with breaks at is quite manageable and safe.

The reason other owners recommend that the best timeshare to own is within an eight hour drive is so that you still have a way to take a vacation even if airfares go up.

Also, you are just more likely to use a timeshare close to home and it is a great way to force yourself to take a vacation every year if you are the Type A kinda personality that things all work and no play is an okay way to live. It isn’t! Everyone needs a break and some time for themselves and their family and timeshares offer a great way to provide that for yourself. While timeshares are not a financial investment, they are an investment in your leisure time and I think its worth it, especially when you can pick up a great deal on the resale market!

Some things have changed in the world … others, not so much.

Take the way most people shop and plan their lives, for instance. We have generally become very comfortable buying goods and services online.

Thick, yellow phone books are nearly a thing of the past, as most of us access the internet from our computers, our phones, our laptops and our ebook readers, when we need information.

We have pretty much abandoned maps, unless they appear online. Instead, we let our cars, our phones, and our other smart devices tell us how to reach our destinations.

And we certainly have less time for vacationing than ever before, and in many cases, less money. Overall, we are less certain about the future, the economy, or the path we should follow.

But despite all this, some things never change.

Our children still grow up all too quickly. Their minds, their feet, and their personalities grow and change… almost before our eyes.

The number of days we have to spend with those we love always has and always will seem too few. Opportunities to make memories remain priceless, no matter the state of the world’s economy or the condition of our own personal budgets.

Timeshares for Making Lasting Memories
If you have never vacationed in a timeshare, you may be in for a big surprise. Timeshare, or vacation ownership as it is also called, is neither complex nor problematic, even though some naysayers would like you to believe it is.

Timeshares, either purchased as value-priced resales, or enjoyed as rentals, are a simple, affordable way to plan a vacation. In most cases, they are surprisingly flexible. They allow you to plan far in advance or schedule last minute.

You can search for a timeshare resale or a timeshare rental by location, price, size, resort brand, or even just by the types of activities you want to enjoy. You can work with Timeshare Locators and let us handle the details for you when you are ready to buy a timeshare.

The opportunities of timeshare have changed, and continue to change, to better serve your needs and the way you like to run your life. Yet the many ways timeshare helps you vacation better and capture more time with those you love remain reliably constant.
